Are we impacting exports in Quebec?
Export promotion organizations, such as the ORPEX network in Quebec, play a crucial role in guiding companies towards international markets. They represent an effective solution to reduce entry costs into foreign markets, increase the number of exporting companies, and maximize export-related benefits.
A recent study reveals that nearly half of the surveyed companies experienced revenue growth and investments above the average in their sector. Additionally, 40.2% of them observed productivity growth higher than the average.
ORPEX is distinguished by its ability to help companies start exporting. Indeed, 82% of companies that were not exporting before being supported by an ORPEX succeeded in their first export initiative thanks to this support. Furthermore, 68% of exporting companies managed to enter new export markets with the help of ORPEX.
The services offered by ORPEX are considered highly relevant by companies, regardless of the service used. The perceived relevance of services varies from 44.1% for trade mission preparation to 72.1% for quick export advice.
More than three-quarters of the surveyed companies believe that ORPEX services helped reduce the intensity of export barriers, regardless of the type of challenge encountered, except for intellectual property issues.
Moreover, 60.2% of the surveyed companies believe that ORPEX support helped them increase their export volume by allowing them to better plan their projects, obtain market information, develop new markets, and reduce export-related risks.
The impacts of ORPEX are not limited to exports. They also enabled 56.5% of companies to increase their turnover, 48.4% to reduce their export-related costs, 46.1% to improve their profitability, and 31.0% to increase their workforce. Furthermore, 87.6% of companies feel ready to continue their export initiatives after being supported by an ORPEX.
Finally, 85.7% of the surveyed companies are satisfied or very satisfied with the support received, and 81.9% plan to use an ORPEX again.
